I’m so saddened to hear of Dr Craners passing. He was such a caring and positive influence for me when I took part in one of his trials. A great loss to the medical profession. Sending thoughts and best wishes to his family and friends.

Dr Craner was amazing and has always approached everything with the most positive attitude. He is missed greatly!

I was deeply saddened to discover Matt had passed. My deepest condolences to his family, friends and colleagues. I first met Matt in September 1983 when we he joined our my form at school and we ended up sitting next to each other. We were in many of the same classes and became best buddies. Matt introduced me to Asia who are still one of my favourite bands. I always admired his intelligence and he inspired and helped me to study hard and achieve O level grades that were way above what the teachers, my parents and I ever considered possible. Of course, Matt got the some highest grades in all the exams (although I did beat him in history!!). It is true to say that without Matt I would not have the amazing career (making Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers) I have today. Thank you Matt. RIP

I only learned of Commander Craner's passing yesterday and am deeply saddened by it. I only had a few appointments with him, but he was always so friendly and caring. My deepest condolences to his family and colleagues.

Cmdr Craner when we first met 17 years ago I said my only priorities were to stay out of a wheelchair so I can walk my daughter down the aisle. You did that and more. We are all at so much more of a loss not having you in our lives. I know you’re in heaven - you did God’s work so well.

I am so sad to have just heard that this man has left us, especially because it is 10 years almost to the day since I believe he saved my life, correctly diagnosing me with acquired ideopathic demyelenating polyneuropathy (or jelly legs as we called it because it was easier to say). He petitioned the drugs board at Frimley Park to allow me to receive immunoglobulin as a treatment, and brought it forward suddenly as he feared it was progressing towards my heart and lungs. He was a steady hand on the tiller as I slowly regained my health and returned to flying - and I am so glad that I was able to share with him that we had established a Wingman lounge at Frimley Park to support frontline NHS staff during the pandemic - a charity I founded and which was crewed by grounded aircrew. To be able to thank someone for giving you back a life you were in danger of losing is a rare thing, and although I knew about his lymphoma, I didn’t know until today that it had beaten him. I owe this man everything, so all that is left to say is thank you from the bottom of my heart and on behalf of our entire family. You will never be forgotten.

I am so upset to hear that Commander Craner has passed away. I am almost feel guilty that I have only just found out. He helped me so much. He diagnosed my MS and put me on a disease modifying drug in 2018. He helped me to understand my condition and my past experiences with it. I will very much miss him and feel for his family, friends, colleagues and patients. I will never forget him and I am sure many other are the same.

I am still blown away by the news of your death. Not at all surprised by the outpouring of love for you and very impressed by all of your achievements. You looked after me when others would have understandably walked away. I am sad that we lost touch but pleased that you replied to my email a couple of years ago. At least you knew I was still thinking about you even if we will never get to see each other again. My warmest thoughts to your close friends and family.

I was so saddened to hear of Matt’s passing at my neurology appointment today. He was my neurologist for the last 15 plus years or so, always listened to what I had to say and never made me feel that I was wasting his time. He will be missed Sending condolences to all his family.

I was so very sorry to hear of Matt’s passing. He was one of the good ones. Always a smile & a hello for you & always asked how you were doing. He was a staunch supporter of the MS specialist nurse & frequently gave up his time to talk. No one will top his ingenious immunology lectures. My condolences to his family, friends & colleagues. Even though he was taken too soon, what he achieved was so much,
